Merie Lacourse serves as a dedicated Veterinary Assistant at HomeVets, where she has been contributing her skills and compassion since 2025. Her journey in veterinary medicine began in 2019 when she started as a receptionist, eventually transitioning to her current role in 2023, where she discovered her true passion. Merie is deeply committed to providing a calm and loving environment for all patients and clients, with a particular affinity for cats. She is highly skilled in low-stress feline handling and has a special love for grumpy and spicy senior cats.

Merie holds a special place in her heart for senior and geriatric patients, as well as those in palliative and end-of-life care. She believes in handling these delicate stages of a pet’s life with utmost care, comfort, love, and compassion, extending her empathy to both the patients and their owners. Merie is eager to advance her knowledge and skills as she grows in her career with HomeVets.

Outside of work, Merie enjoys cooking, embarking on road trips, and spending quality time with her beloved cat, Mocha.
